One problem with the Flow process is that we are making changes to the field lists as our business grows. The way Zoho forms are currently configured, everytime I make a change in LEADS, I would have to go duplicate those changes in POTENTIALS, ACCOUNTS, CONTACTS, and so forth. Could it be possible to "check a box" and by doing so all the fields would remain consistent through all tabs, despite changes and updates?? If this function already exists, please point me in the right direction.

Defect Found! Steps to replicate:

1) Begin creating a quote - enter client contact details
2) Begin entering product details
3) Click to pop-up product name lookup screen
4) Click next to browse/find the product you are looking for

Expected: pop up would refresh with the next 10 products

Observed: pop-up says no products found. more than 10 products definitely exist in the database and the desired product can be found by going to the "products" tab in zoho CRM.

Can you please fix this asap? This essentially makes quotes broken for us since we can't choose already created products.

Multiple email address support:

I understand there is the ability to add an additional email field to a contact, but the functionality here needs to be drastically revised. Currently, this second email address does not log under the contact email history, nor is it available as a send address when using the Send Mail button within CRM.

We recently migrated from GoldMine. I hate GoldMine, but there is one thing they did well: Email. I suggest copying them. Change the email field to an editable picklist, this is much more user friendly than having to add an entirely new field to every contact record because one person has 2, 3,.. n, email addresses. If the email is currently associated to the contact, then all email communication from that address should also be associated to the contact. This will also solve the problem of losing email= histories if a contact changes their email address, as you'll no longer have to replace the address.

I don't know about everyone else, but this is a major issue for us.

I had confirmation from Zoho on #2 just this week: it is NOT possible to send auto workflow emails to external contacts or leads or people who report cases.


This is a shame because this would be great for stuff like meeting reports, support contract renewals etc. Zoho, please do implement this feature - it has numerous benefits and I am sure your competitors Salesforce do it!


As a workaround, I implemented this solution:


I created a rule that triggered an alert based on a field (date, status etc), which sent the email for the client to the OWNER of the record, with a simple Attn: OWNER NAME: Please forward to client" at the top of the email... This way the owner ie the sales manager for example, gets the email deletes the instruction line, then fowards it to the client. Not typing etc required. Not perfect, but it works and is a simple enough workaround until Zoho can implement this feature.

REALLY IMPORTANT TO ME (I'm not too embarrassed to beg):

Could you please incorporate ZOHO INVOICE within ZOHO CRM so that I can customize and track my payments.

As standalones, you all deserve accolades but they urgently require close integration. I have done all sorts of tests importing data from ZOHO CRM to ZOHO INVOICE but the import mapping is not comprehensive, which makes it all but impossible (i.e. too dangerous to rely on) to automate.

I'm sure I speak for thousands of your clients when I say that it's not really about the cost (though that's always at the back of one's mind) but more about your development team integrating all the wonderful features of INVOICE into CRM.

By all means keep INVOICE as a separate package for those small businesses who don't have the time to learn CRM from scratch but, for the rest of us, PLEASE integrate it.

I urge any of my fellow ZOHO customers reading this to post a brief note here if they agree, in order to stress the importance of such a feature.

PLEEEAAASE add the following feature asap (I'm getting so much pressure from colleagues who just don't understand CRM/relational databases because of this). I also have no doubt that the following tweak would be of benefit to ALL Zoho CRM users:

Just as I can use TWO data groups as the basis for a report i.e. ACTIVITIES + CONTACTS (though I hope you will enhance this to allow EVERY FIELD to be included)... I URGENTLY need you to allow me to add more fields to a customised ACTIVITY view.

My specific reason: we're a brand new internet via satellite company. As you (and my fellow ZOHOers) can imagine, my colleagues expect miracles from me (and therefore you) in admin. It's immediately become apparent that the guys on the road categorise leads/clients BY ADDRESS. If I say, "have you seen Mr Johnson?" they stare at me with blank aggression. However, if I say, "have you been to Nº 14 Jupiter Avenue?" they pretty much know who I'm talking about.

So, when I'm preparing an ACTIVITY summary list for them, I REALLY REALLY need to be able to include the street (mailing street in the default) in the grid summary.

And, while I'm on my knees, I'm sure I speak for all when I request the ability to OPT for advanced search, allowing us to locate data in ANY field. As things stand, if a colleague on the road refers to a street number, rather than a contact/account name, I'm reduced to browsing an entire list view (having alphabetically sorted by STREET field).

Final thing for now before regaining my dignity, please allow us to save a list view/report AFTER we have chosen the default FIELD/SORT ORDER. i.e. I make a report, then click to sort by, for example, street name, THEN I save, so that when it is opened, it comes up automatically in THAT order.

I wouldn't be so grovelling if I didn't think your time tweaking this would be of benefit to ALL your clients.

So we would love to use ZohoCRM for our Quotes but we cannot edit the Quote templates in a way that works. We have followed the instructions and try editing the templates in Zoho and with HTML editor. We have contact ZohoCRM support and even spent time working with support representative online and they were not able to help. The last thing they said was that they need to work with Zoho engineers and then get back to us. Of course a month has gone by and there is no response back from ZohoCRM. Is anyone using Zoho Sales Quotes that works with anything other than the standard template. We really only need to have a few items changed but this system for quoting seems so limited. It would be great if ZohoCRM would put some more development effort into the Quoting.

I am really struggling with getting the insertRecords api to work. Can you confirm what the contentType of the request must be? Secondly, do I need to add the the apikey and Ticket as parameters to the request or do they need to form part of the URL with just the xml data as a parameter? I can confirm I am using a POST and I have tried various contentTypes and various combinations of the parameters but just keep getting a 4500 Error Code returned. It would be a big time saver to have possibility to change values in a list view and not only in a detail view.
This quick edit is possible in Adwords recent upgraded interface. There I can change keyword bid in right in a keywords list, without need to go to another page as it was in a previous Adwords interface. I really don't imagine Zoho CRM without current ajax editing for certain fields! I don't remmember when I used last time that grey "edit" buton at the top of detail pages (contacts, accounts, inventory modules...). I use only ajax field edit. So, I think this suggestion to edit from a list view would mean a big increase in usability and time saving.

First Idea - Allow creation of Leads fro existing accounts and contacts. Set it up so that you can then convert the lead without creating duplicate accounts and contacts. We use the potentials tab for opportunities that have passed through our lead scoring/qualifying process. Adding this functionality will dramatically reduce data entry and database maintenance.

Second Idea - Allow workflow rules to send alerts to the record owner. This will allow people to create workflow rules on a wider range of tiopics. Our company has 30 users. With the limit of 20 workflow rules per module that means is we need to customize a workflow for each user we can only effectively create ONE rule, and apply it to only 2/3 of our users.

Third Idea - Allow users to define the width of columns in Views. Currently the number of characters in the field label and the number of labels in the view determines the width of each column. This makes creating custom views very cumbersome and many fields are often hard to read.

Fourth Idea. FIX THE WORKFLOW RULES. Right now the only way a workflow alert for a date based trigger functions properly is if you create the record on the date of workflow trigger. This makes it quite useless as a reminder.

Fifth Idea - In the e-mail alerts triggered by workflow rules include a hyperlink to take you directly top the record that triggererd the workflow alert. The only way to currently have this functionality is to create a workflow task, which then creates more data entry and reduces productivity.

I use a Mac. I can sync Google calendar to ical, so I need a Mac based solution to sync Zoho CRM's calendar to Google OR a way to synch Zoho CRM's calendar to iCal.

I see this as a major drawback to Zoho CRM. Any way to make either of these work for mac users?

I was successfully sending leads using the api method insertRecords for about a week. Then all of a sudden I started getting an Invalid Ticket Id response.

Are the ticket IDs only good for a certain amount of time?

Do you need to generate a new Ticket ID with each request?

It seems like needing an API key and a Ticket ID for each post is overkill.

How do you get around this?


Yes, you are correct. It is valid for only seven days. You can generate the ticket id once the API call returns the response as "Invalid Ticket Id" and you can call the same API with the newly generated ticket. Please, do not generate the ticket for every request. Hope this helps.

I am concerned looking at some of the feedback about Zoho. It seems that Zoho appears is a far inferior product to salesforce ... I have little confidence that it will rapidly close the gap. I can't afford to go with a product that never quite cuts the mustard - I'd rather pay a bit more and get the finished article.

I really agree with Jan's comment here! The application is cool, but the support site is embarrassing to say the least, and the answers are systematically vague, making decision whether to go for zoho or not a really tough one!

I think you should focus more on customer support and documentation on one side, and commit to a clear roadmap, else my fear is that business models will evolve more quickly, making the saving against salesforce.com totally irrelevant.

Just to give you one more important detail on this. In our business, the students pay the fees in installments. Every 6 months one installment (if the student is enrolled in longer course), so for our business it would be very useful if the CRM would remind us about the installments pending ...


But of course, most important is the information about when do you plan to implement this business model, as I allways get info from your support, that "you plan to implement it", but not really, if it will be implement in short time (so we can wait), or not really ... As I mentioned in other threads, we would be happy to participate financially on the implementation if it could help things to be done fast ...

And what about the scenario, once business is based on the commissions from sales. F.e. we sell study programms to our clients and get paid on the commission basis. In some cases, we deduct the commission and pay the vendors NET price. In some cases, we pay the vendors the full price and then charge them the commission.


Does Zoho count with such scenarios as well?
