Audit Log is a chronological sequence of entries, each resulting from the actions performed by the Users in Zoho CRM. It displays the recently performed activities of the Users. Audit Logs are beneficial for a number of reasons and these are explained below:

Benefits

  • Event reconstruction: Log data can be helpful to determine the happenings before and after an event.
  • Accountability: Log data can be used to identify accounts associated with certain events.

Usage

The Audit Log feature is generally enabled for all the Users (not for particular Users). However, this follows a role hierarchy in which the Administrator has the permissions to enable and disable the Audit Log option.
To enable Audit Log
  1. Log in to Zoho CRM with Administrator permission.
  2. Click on Setup > Personal Settings > Audit Log.
  3. In the Audit Log page, click on Enable Now.
    This will enable the View Audit Log for all users.
To disable Audit Log
  1. Log in to Zoho CRM with Administrator permission.
  2. Click on Setup > Personal Settings > Audit Log.
  3. In the Audit Log page, click on Disable Now.
    This will disable the View Audit Log for all users.
 Notes:
  • Users can only view their own and their sub-ordinates Audit Logs.
  • Only Administrator has the privilege to view Audit Logs of all Users.
  • Audit Log displays the activities performed within the last 30 days (from the enabled date).

View Audit Log

Once this feature is enabled by your Zoho CRM Administrator, this can be viewed by each User. However, Users can only view their own and their sub-ordinates Audit Logs.
To view Audit Log
  1. Click on Setup > Personal Settings > Audit Log
  2. In the Audit Log page, select User (from the User drop-down list).
    You can now view the actions performed on the record(s) by the selected User.

The Audit Log feature is available only for the following Modules:
  • Leads
  • Accounts
  • Contacts
  • Potentials
  • Notes
  • Tasks
  • Events
The table below displays the actions that are captured in the Audit Log view along with the display text for the particular action:
