Search Records

The dark highlights indicates the modules with Search Records option.

The search option helps locating specific information or specific records without having to go through the entire list of records, thus saving time in finding records. The different search options available in Zoho CRM are:

  • Search records by Alphabets
  • Search records by Information
  • Search records by Criteria

Search Records by Alphabets

This option allows searching a particular record within the module by the list of alphabets.

To search records by alphabets

  1. Click on [Module] Tab.
  2. In  the [Module] home page, click on the Alphabet from the list to search.

The list page displays all the records within the criteria of  the specified alphabet.

Search Records by Information

This option allows searching particular record(s) from all Modules or from an individual Module by entering specific information in the search box.

To search records by information

  1. Select [Module] from the Search  drop-down list (top-left panel in the home page).
  2. Enter the information for the search criteria and click Go.

The list page displays record(s) as per the specified information.

Note:

  • By default, if a specific module is not selected, the information  is searched in all modules.
  • Minimum of three characters of information should be typed in the search-box. 

Search Records by Criteria

This option allows searching records by the selected search criteria. 

To search records by criteria

  1. Click on  [Module] Tab.
  2. In the  [Module] home page, select one of the search criteria from the drop-down list and specify the corresponding information of the record.
  3.  Click Go.

The list page displays record(s) according to the selected search criteria.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I have search option to be user specific?

To have search option to be user specific, you have to mark the option " Show my records only" which is available in left side of <Module> home page.  However, this option is available only if you search records by module.

How can I search records with first name?

To search records with first name, you have to select the search criteria to be First Name. This can be done by including the First Name field in search criteria. However for further details on search criteria you can go through customizing search criteria.
